Eleanor’s approach and specialisms

Eleanor works integratively, drawing from psychodynamic, attachment-based, person-centred, narrative, and evidence-based approaches.

Her work focuses not only on present difficulties, but also on the emotional and relational patterns that shape how people experience themselves, others, and relationships over time. This includes exploring attachment dynamics, emotional regulation, identity, self-worth, and the impact of earlier experiences on present-day relationships and coping patterns.

Her approach is collaborative, reflective, and insight-oriented, helping individuals and couples make sense of recurring patterns while developing more sustainable ways of relating to themselves and others.

Alongside her relational work, Eleanor brings a strong understanding of neurodiversity, particularly ADHD, and the emotional experiences that often sit underneath it. This includes rejection sensitivity, fear of failure, emotional dysregulation, burnout, masking, overwhelm, and the pressure of feeling chronically misunderstood.

Her work is non-pathologising and aims to create a space where clients can better understand themselves without reducing their experiences to labels or deficits.

ADHD, Neurodiversity, and Mixed Neurotype Relationships

Eleanor specialises in working with neurodivergent individuals and mixed neurotype couples, particularly where ADHD shapes emotional wellbeing, relationship dynamics, and sense of self.

Her work focuses on the emotional and relational impact of ADHD beyond practical coping strategies alone. This includes communication difficulties, rejection sensitivity, emotional dysregulation, impulsivity, intimacy issues, recurring conflict, burnout, and the strain that develops when people feel repeatedly misunderstood by themselves or others.

She also works with the wider identity issues that can accompany neurodivergence, including shame, masking, over-achieving, fear of failure, chronic self-criticism, and imposter syndrome.

Within couples work, Eleanor supports partners in moving beyond blame and misunderstanding towards clearer communication, emotional safety, and a more workable understanding of each other’s experiences and needs.

Relationship and Attachment Difficulties

Eleanor also works with individuals and couples experiencing wider relationship and attachment difficulties, including recurring patterns in intimacy, communication, emotional connection, and conflict.

Using attachment-informed approaches, she helps clients explore how earlier relational experiences, emotional regulation, and relational roles shape the way they connect, withdraw, repair, and respond within relationships.

She works with clients who feel stuck in repetitive cycles, emotionally disconnected, unseen within relationships, or uncertain about how to create healthier and more secure ways of relating.

The focus of the work is not simply on improving communication, but on understanding the emotional dynamics underneath recurring patterns and developing more sustainable ways of relating.

Postpartum and Fertility-Related Difficulties

Eleanor has a particular interest in supporting individuals and couples navigating fertility challenges, pregnancy, and the postpartum period.

She recognises the significant emotional, relational, and identity-related impact these experiences can have, particularly during periods of uncertainty, transition, change, grief, or emotional overwhelm.

Her approach creates a compassionate and non-judgemental space where clients can process these experiences more openly while developing greater emotional understanding, resilience, and connection within themselves and their relationships.
