Who we work with

At Heathwell Blackheath, we have specialised therapists experienced in supporting a wide range of client groups, ensuring personalised care tailored to each individual’s needs. These include:

  • We support children and young people navigating the complex transition from childhood to adolescence and early adulthood. Growing up can bring challenges such as anxiety, school or exam stress, social difficulties, identity exploration, family conflicts and peer pressure. Our therapists provide a safe, non-judgmental space where children and teenagers can express themselves, build emotional resilience and develop confidence. We help young people process difficult emotions, strengthen communication with parents and peers, and develop healthy coping strategies.

  • We work with people across the entire lifespan, recognising that each stage of life brings its own challenges and opportunities for growth. From young adults establishing independence and identity, to mid-life individuals navigating career or relationship transitions, to older adults reflecting on life experiences or adapting to retirement and ageing. Our therapists address issues including intimacy, neurodiversity and ADHD, coercive control recovery, sexual desire concerns, anxiety, depression, relationship challenges, and life transitions.

  • We work with parents at all stages of the parenting journey, whether adjusting to life with young children, navigating developmental or emotional challenges, managing teenage transitions, or processing feelings as adult children become independent. Our therapists offer a supportive space to explore the emotional aspects of parenthood while helping develop practical strategies for family communication and relational dynamics. We recognise that parenting needs evolve over time and provide guidance through everyday challenges as well as major life transitions.

  • We support partners in traditional couples, throuples and other intimate arrangements. Our approach addresses the full spectrum of relational dynamics, including communication difficulties, intimacy and desire issues, trust rebuilding, recovery from coercive patterns or infidelity, and navigating neurodiversity within intimate relationships. We provide balanced, client-led therapy where all parties can express themselves, understand each other’s needs and develop practical strategies for deeper connection.

  • Beyond intimate partnerships, we work with people to improve connections with family members, including parent–child relationships, as well as friendships, colleagues and wider social networks. This approach helps identify recurring patterns, resolve conflicts, strengthen communication and build healthier, more supportive relationships. It is suitable for anyone seeking support to navigate relational stress, emotional distance or misunderstandings in any type of relationship.
