Trish’s approach and qualifications
Trish takes an integrative approach to therapy, drawing on different therapeutic modalities to tailor her work to each client’s needs, circumstances, and cultural context. Her practice is relational, trauma-informed, and grounded in both psychological and psychosexual expertise.
Psychosexual therapy
Trish specialises in psychosexual therapy, supporting individuals and couples with concerns including low or loss of sexual desire, erectile difficulties, vaginismus, dyspareunia, orgasm difficulties, and sex-related anxiety. Her work integrates psychological understanding with practical interventions, addressing the physical, emotional, and relational aspects of sexual wellbeing.
She works sensitively with issues shaped by cultural and religious expectations, helping clients navigate shame, fear, or silence around sexuality in a respectful and informed way.
Relationship and communication difficulties
Trish works with individuals and couples who are struggling with communication difficulties within their relationships. This may include feeling misunderstood, recurring arguments, difficulty expressing needs or boundaries, or patterns where conversations escalate or shut down.
She supports clients to explore how communication patterns develop within relationships and how they are influenced by emotional safety, attachment, cultural expectations, and past experiences. Her work focuses on helping clients communicate more clearly and honestly, reduce conflict, and build greater mutual understanding.
Narcissistic abuse
Trish is experienced in supporting individuals who are currently in, or recovering from, narcissistic abuse. She understands the psychological impact of manipulation, gaslighting, and emotional instability within these relationships. Her work focuses on rebuilding self-worth, restoring self-trust, reducing shame, and supporting clients to regain a sense of agency and identity.
Grief and loss
Trish supports individuals who are navigating grief and loss in its many forms, including bereavement, relationship breakdowns, and identity transitions. She recognises that grief can be complex, ongoing, and at times isolating, particularly when losses are not openly acknowledged or are accompanied by guilt, relief, or confusion.
Her work offers a supportive and relational space to process loss at a pace that feels manageable, helping clients make sense of their emotional responses and regain a sense of stability and continuity following significant change.
Cultural diversity, LGBTQIA+ and BAME communities
Trish is committed to culturally sensitive and inclusive practice. She has a particular interest in working with diverse communities and offers affirming support to LGBTQIA+ individuals, as well as engaging in outreach with BAME communities. Her work considers the intersection of culture, religion, identity, relationships, and sexuality.
Professional background
Trish has experience across private practice, charitable organisations, and NHS psychosexual clinics. With a background spanning both mental health and psychosexual services, she applies evidence-based tools alongside relational therapeutic insight.
She offers counselling and psychotherapy to individuals and couples from our Blackheath clinic, serving clients from Greenwich, Lewisham, and across South East London, as well as online.
