narcissistic abuse support group for women

Narcissistic Abuse Support Group

an online group for women who have experienced narcissistic abuse and harmful relationship or family dynamics

Experiencing narcissistic abuse can leave you feeling confused, isolated and uncertain about your own perceptions. Long-term emotional manipulation, invalidation and power imbalance can affect self-trust, boundaries, relationships and the ability to feel secure in your own decisions.

These effects may continue even after a relationship has ended. You may understand intellectually that something was harmful while still experiencing guilt, anxiety, hypervigilance, self-doubt or a strong sense of responsibility for other people’s feelings.

Our online Narcissistic Abuse Support Group brings women together to learn more about these dynamics, share experiences and receive support from others who understand something of what they have been through.

The group will be open-ended and meet fortnightly online. The emphasis will be on psychoeducation, facilitated discussion and mutual support. You will not be expected to describe traumatic experiences in detail or share more than feels manageable.

Who is the group for?

The group is for women who have experienced narcissistic abuse or harmful relational dynamics within:

  • A current or previous romantic relationship

  • A marriage or separation

  • A family relationship

  • A relationship with a narcissistic or emotionally unavailable parent

  • A friendship or other significant relationship

You do not need the other person to have received a formal diagnosis. The focus will be on your experience of the relationship, the patterns that developed and the impact they have had on you.

You may recognise experiences such as:

  • Frequently doubting your own memory or judgement

  • Feeling responsible for another person’s emotions or reactions

  • Finding it difficult to set or maintain boundaries

  • Guilt when prioritising your own needs

  • Hypervigilance or anxiety within relationships

  • People-pleasing, self-silencing or over-explaining

  • Feeling confused by repeated cycles of closeness, criticism or withdrawal

  • Struggling to trust yourself after the relationship

  • Feeling isolated from people who do not understand what happened

The group will combine information about narcissistic and emotionally harmful relationship dynamics with opportunities for discussion, reflection and support.

Themes may include:

  • How narcissistic abuse and emotional manipulation operate

  • Gaslighting, blame shifting and emotional invalidation

  • Power, control and unequal responsibility within relationships

  • Why these dynamics can be difficult to recognise and leave

  • The effects of narcissistic abuse on self-trust and self-worth

  • Boundaries, guilt and fear of conflict

  • Hypervigilance and nervous system responses

  • People-pleasing and over-responsibility

  • The impact of narcissistic or emotionally unavailable parenting

  • Rebuilding a more grounded and trusting relationship with yourself

Hearing from other women can help reduce the isolation and shame that often accompany narcissistic abuse. The group offers an opportunity to recognise shared experiences, gain different perspectives and feel understood without having to justify or minimise what happened.
